Terms of Service

The rules for using this site and reusing its content — including the open license the material is published under.

Effective date: August 14, 2026 · Last updated: August 14, 2026

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using AI Capability Map (aicapabilitymap.org, "the site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. What This Site Is

AI Capability Map is a free, community-maintained reference for enterprise AI capability mapping, platform architecture, and maturity benchmarking. The content — including the capability directory, reference architectures, maturity model, and vendor landscape — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

It is not professional, legal, security, or compliance advice, and should not be relied on as a substitute for independent evaluation by qualified professionals before you make architectural, procurement, or governance decisions. The AI tooling landscape moves quickly; we make reasonable efforts to keep information current but cannot guarantee accuracy or completeness at any given time.

3. Content License

Except where otherwise noted (for example, third-party logos and trademarks — see Section 4), the original content on this site — including the capability taxonomy, maturity model, reference architectures, diagrams, and written material — is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY‑NC 4.0).

Under this license, you are free to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material.

provided that you:

  • Give appropriate attribution — credit "AI Capability Map (aicapabilitymap.org)," link to the license, and note if changes were made.
  • Do not use the material for commercial purposes — you may not sell this content, repackage or resell it (as-is or adapted) as a paid product, course, report, or service, or use it to build a competing commercial offering, without our prior written permission.

Internal use within a business — for example, an enterprise architecture team using the maturity model to assess their own organization — is not "resale" and is permitted under this license. If you want to license this content for a commercial product or paid redistribution, contact us to discuss terms.

4. Third-Party Trademarks

The Platform Landscape, Reference Blueprints, and related pages reference third-party vendors, products, and tools by name and logo for identification and educational purposes only. All such names, logos, and marks are the property of their respective owners. Their inclusion does not imply any endorsement of, sponsorship by, or affiliation with those vendors, nor does it imply our endorsement of them.

5. Third-Party Links

This site links to numerous third-party vendor sites, tools, and documentation. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those external sites. Visiting a linked site is at your own discretion and subject to that site's own terms.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information is accurate, complete, or current.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AI Capability Map and its maintainers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the site or its content, including any decisions made in reliance on it.

8. Changes to the Site & These Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time, and may update these terms as the site evolves. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.

9. Governing Law & Severability

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms, or requests for a commercial license to the content, should be directed to the site operator. A dedicated contact channel will be published here once one is available.
