Privacy Policy

This site collects as little personal information as possible. Here's exactly what we gather, why, and what rights you have over it.

Effective date: August 14, 2026 · Last updated: August 14, 2026

1. Overview

AI Capability Map (aicapabilitymap.org, "we," "us," or "our") is a free, community-maintained reference site about enterprise AI capability mapping and platform architecture. This policy explains what information the site collects when you visit, why, and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to aicapabilitymap.org and does not cover third-party sites we link to.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide directly

If you subscribe to updates or contact us, we collect the information you choose to submit — typically your email address and, if you provide it, your name or a message. We use this solely to respond to you or send the updates you asked for.

b. Information collected automatically

Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical data for every request: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring page, and timestamps. We also use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — pages visited, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser type, and session duration. We use this only in aggregate, to understand traffic patterns and improve the site — we do not use it to build individual visitor profiles, and it is not linked to Google Ads or any cross-site advertising network.

c. Cookies and local storage

This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions for the aggregate reporting described above; it does not sell or share this data for advertising purposes. The site may also use strictly necessary local storage (for example, to remember a UI preference like a dismissed banner) that never leaves your browser.

3. Third-Party Services

The site loads a small number of third-party resources to function, each governed by its own provider's privacy policy:

  • Hosting provider — serves the site and processes standard access logs described above.
  • Google Fonts & Material Symbols — loads webfonts used across the site.
  • Google favicon service — used to display small vendor icons on the Platform Landscape and Reference Blueprints pages.
  • Google Analytics — collects aggregate site-usage statistics as described above, governed by Google's privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We keep the information described above only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for — for example, subscriber emails until you unsubscribe, and aggregate server logs on a rolling basis of a few months. You can request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 6).

5. Legal Basis & International Transfers

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your information is your consent (for optional sign-ups) or our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (for automatic technical logs). Because the site is accessed globally, information may be processed in countries other than your own; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and request a copy (access / portability).
  • Correct inaccurate information (rectification).
  • Request deletion of your information (erasure).
  • Object to, or request we restrict, certain processing.
  • Opt out of any future sale or sharing of personal information — we do not currently sell or share personal information, and have no plans to.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of the above.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9 — we'll respond within a reasonable time and, in any event, within the period required by applicable law.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the limited, low-sensitivity data this site collects. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

This site is intended for a professional, enterprise-technology audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy & Contact

We may update this policy as the site evolves; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be noted here. If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise a privacy right, contact the site operator. A dedicated contact channel will be published here once one is available.
